Friday 6 March

Luggage Day
Morning panoramic tour of San Jose including the Teatro Nacional, an architectural jewel
See historical and government buildings and the public park, La Sabana
Drive along scenic roads dotted with coffee and sugarcane plantations to the artisan town of Sarchi
Dinner tonight at a popular local restaurant in town

Arenal

Saturday 7 March

Included breakfast in hotel
Full day at leisure in Arenal, home of the now dormant Arenal Volcano
Perhaps, participate in the optional full day Cano Negro Boat Tour--peaceful sights and sounds of the rain forest, abundant with birds, monkeys, sloths, turtles and caimans.
Tonight, consider spending the evening on an optional tour to one of the popular Hot Springs

Sunday 8 March

Included breakfast in hotel
Luggage Day
Embark on a brisk 2 mile walking tour of the Las Coladas train in Arenal National Park
See the local flora and fauna while enjoying picturesque views of the volcano
At the end of the trail, you may choose to participate in a rugged hike over the ancient lava rocks or just wander along the gentler terrain
Continue to Monteverde, home of the beautiful Cloud Forest
Afterwards, opt to stay in the village for dinner or relax at your lodge in the Magnificent Monteverde Forest

Monday 9 March

Included breakfast in hotel
Morning at leisure to enjoy the lush forests and verdant pastures, excellent for bird watching and hiking along the winding paths in the 26,000 acre Cloud Forest Reserve
Or participate in one or both of the optional morning adventure tours, Selvatura Canopy Tour or Selvatura Hanging Bridges tour
In the afternoon we leave the forest and travel to a flourishing Costa Rican coffee plantation for an included lunch and a tour
Return to Monteverde for an included dinner at a local restaurant

Tuesday 10 March

Luggage Day
Drive along the Pacific Coast to Manuel Antonio National Park, with white sand beaches and tropical forest
Free time in the coastal town of Jaco for lunch on your own
Afterwards, continue to Manuel Antonio with the rest of the day at leisure

Tour Manuel Antonio National Park. Its large land and marine biodiversity and beautiful coral reefs make this one of the world's most impressive natural habitats
Walk through this tropical paradise and mangrove swamps, beach vegetation and lagoons
Discover some of the109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds
Optional adventures include diving, snorkeling, horseback riding, fishing, and a canopy tour
